Born to Make Waves

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always challenged the status quo, asked the tough questions or sought to do it a better way. But further than this, have you ever felt like you were born to do something? I mean, really born to accomplish something so specific that you focus your energy on it so intently that it practically consumes every part of you?

That’s how I felt when I learned about the concept of a virtual assistant (VA). The fact that I could use my technological, administrative, analytical and creative skills and abilities to support businesses from anywhere in the world completely fascinated me. I took that VA concept to challenge myself into building and growing my small business into what it is today.

In my former life as an active duty military spouse, it was necessary that I frequently changed jobs as we changed duty stations – seven times in fifteen years to be exact. As a result, despite my resume looking like I was a job hopper, I turned it into a positive. I explained to the hiring managers that my unique perspective and mindset allowed me to come in to a job with fresh eyes and objectivity. I would intently listen as they shared with me their company’s goals and challenges. In turn, I was able to connect my strengths and vast experience into solutions to help them achieve those goals and overcome the challenges.

With my positive attitude, I managed to find employers who were willing to allow me to learn on the job or take advantage of opportunities that I might not traditionally be qualified for. What they gained was a highly motivated and loyal employee who always went above and beyond; and I took away valuable insight, job training and experience that other employers and clients have been able to draw from.

In 2018, I returned to college to put the polish on my business analyst skills and continue to keep my finger on the pulse of the current technology trends as well as anticipate what lies ahead on the horizon for social and digital marketing. Offering my clients the best of what I have is what will help us all be successful.

Why I Enjoy Making Waves

I love solving problems! Is there a better way to do this process? Let’s talk about it! Is there a less expensive way to produce this product? Let’s discover that together! Is there a more efficient way to get this from A to B? Let’s find out! What do you find challenges your business and staff the most? What is most important to you? I’m listening!

What I have realized over the course of performing virtual assistance services is that even the smallest change or adjustment can sometimes have a huge impact on a business. That is why I could not think of a better name for my business ― Ripple Effect. Each and every project we do is another pebble in the pond, facilitating the change needed to help your business shake off the constraints that are holding you back.

Running a business is hard work. There is no reason why you should have to do it alone. If you’re looking for professional support, I would love to visit with you to discuss how a virtual assistant could enhance your business plan and help you achieve your goals and objectives – and even make some waves!
